More often than not, I capture some exciting videos and share them with friends. To prevent the unwanted ambient noise from ruining my creativity, I make sure to remove audio from my videos using iPhone. What about you?
Well, turning off video sound on iOS isn't a big deal. And once you've done the basics, it hardly takes a few steps to get things done. Moreover, if you ever want to bring back the audio, you won't have to travel that far either. Let me show you how to mute video sound on the iOS device the quick way!
How to Remove Audio from Video on iPhone and iPad
Step #1. Head over to the video and then tap on Edit.
Step #2. Next, tap on yellow-colored volume icon from top left.
Step 1: Load your iPhone/iPad video. Fire up iMovie on your iPhone, click Projects + Create Project choose Movie in the New Project window. Then tap Create Movie to import video from iPhone to iMovie. Import a Video to iMovie on iPhone. Step 2: Enable video cropping feature in iMovie. Well, you can also use iMovie to cut off top of video on iPhone and iPad. IMovie is available for iOS devices too. Step 1 Run the iMovie app. Tap 'Projects' 'Create Project' to import the video you want to trim. Step 2 Slide the playhead to set the position where you want to split this video. It's easy cut a clip in iMovie. Simply scroll the timeline with your finger so that the playhead (red vertical line) is positioned exactly where you want to cut. Then, swipe your finger down over the playhead to cut the clip. You'll see the cut represented by a square black icon with a vertical line. You can tap on this to change it to a fade. In Imovie for ipad, when you open a portrait mode clip in a project, you can rotate the clip by using two fingers the top left panel. Clip will change to landscape mode with no borders. Do this for each vertical clip and save the project. To view the project you have to lock the screen in. From there, find a spot on your video clip that you want to separate then click the Cut button. After that, click the remaining part of your video then tap the Delete. You can also return the video to its original form by clicking the Reset button. Tap the OK to save the changes.
Step #3. Finally tap on Done.
Play the video, and you will find that it has no sound. Also, if you notice, you will see that the volume icon is greyed out.
If you ever wish to bring the audio back, follow the above steps, and tap on Revert → Revert to Original and sound will be restored.
This method was the simplest and you do not need to download any app. As you saw, it was hardly four taps! However, if you are looking for an alternate method, follow along.
How to Mute Music from Video on iPhone and iPad using iMovie
In this tutorial, I'm going to use Apple's highly appreciable video editing app 'iMovie' as it gets the work done easily. So, ensure that you've already installed the app on your device. The app is available for free and requires iOS 11.4 or later.
Step #1. Launch Photos app on your iOS device.
Step #2. Now, open the video which audio you wish to mute.
Step #3. Next, Tap on Edit, tap on the tiny more button (three dots inside a circle) at the bottom.
Step #4. Up next, tap on iMovie. If you are using iMovie for the first time, the app will ask you to let it access your media library. Just tap on OK.
Note: If you there is no iMovie option, tap on More → Turn on the switch next to iMovie and hit Done to confirm.
Step #5. Check out the audio button, tap on it to mute the video sound. Make sure to tap on Done at the top right to confirm the change.
